Winter is here, and the darkest period of the year is coming.

Light is said to bring information to the body, especially important for the endocrine system to regulate hormones. It may be the most important nutrient after oxygen, even more important than water. We also need it to sustain body rhythms such as awake and sleep, and every cell of your body needs it to breathe oxygen.

Because light is so important, it is essential to nourish your body with light during winter in order to support energy, mood, and creativity. In this month newsletter, you find three ways to support your light needs:

1) Sad lamp. We need to be exposed to the broadest spectrum of light of the sun, but often artificial lights lack this. Therefore it is best to buy a lamp which is designed to have all frequencies of light. My favourite ones are created by BlockBlue Light.

2) Red light therapy. Sauna or hot yoga can help you fill yourself with red light which is a specific frequency that helps to charge the water inside the body. This is useful in darker months to sustain energy.

3) Don't forget to drink! During colder months we may be less attracted to the water bottle, but remember that thirst is the last signal that our body uses to ask for water. Most common communication from our body to drink are fatigue, headaches, pains.

Did you know?
We also emit light. Our DNA emits a continuous and coherent beam of light which is measurable by modern technology.
